Available in both Greensmower (G) and Standard (SI) versions, these Semi-Industrial machines are now available in the UK with a choice of 20-inch & 25-inch cutting widths.

The Greensmower (G) versions are designed for precision cutting of competition surfaces to a very high standard and are fitted with 12-blade reels, a low-cut bottom blade precision ground to 2mm thickness, height-adjustable smooth rear rollers with roller scraper, and dual cutting height handwheel adjusters. A setting gauge is provided as standard equipment with all Greensmowers.

Greensmower (G)

Uniquely for mowers in this price range, all models can be fitted with brushing, scarifying or grooming reels, which are available as accessories. Further options include a Wiehle front roller and a wheeled transport cradle (both pictured).

A Subaru Robin EX13 4.5hp overhead camshaft engine provides exceptional reliability, long trouble-free life and ultra-low exhaust emissions. Starting is easy, thanks to a decompression system which reduces effort.

Handling is a delight: controls are simple, safe and comfortable. Protea have managed to combine excellent engineering quality with good balance, ideal weight and convenience in operation. Electrical interlocks allow the grassbox to be emptied without stopping the engine. The drive clutch can be operated with light pressure on the lever.

All Protea mowers are designed and engineered for exceptionally low vibration, and all Semi-Industrial models feature specially-tuned vibration isolators and mounts. The low-vibration handle mountings allows longer periods of use within the legal limits for vibration exposure whilst retaining the positive handling necessary for accurate control. All main controls are electrically interlocked to provide a high degree of operator safety and feature rod actuators in place of cables for reliability and consistency over long periods.

The Standard (SI) machines carry a choice of either 6-blade reel or 9-blade reel and a 3mm bottom blade. The rear roller has a vulcanised grooved surface to reduce slippage and, uniquely for a machine of this type, is height-adjustable to permit continuous accurate alignment with the bottom blade. The cutting height is easily adjusted with a single handwheel.
